Cable Construction
Tinned copper conductors with automotive-grade PVC or cross-linked polyethylene insulation. UV resistant outer sheath for exposed installations.
Pre-Crimped Terminals
Factory-crimped ring terminals on battery end with heat-shrink insulation. Professional crimp quality ensures low-resistance connection. Charger-end connections pre-terminated to match BCDCN1240 input terminals.
Terminal Block
Screw-type terminal block with brass terminals and polycarbonate housing. Allows field trimming of cable length without requiring special crimping tools. Rated for automotive environment.
Fuse Holders
Inline ANL or MIDI fuse holders with weather-sealed caps. Corrosion-resistant brass contacts. Mounting holes for secure installation to vehicle chassis or battery box.
Anderson Connectors
Heavy-duty Anderson connector for solar panel connection.
Primary Applications
- Ute/pickup truck with auxiliary battery in rear tray or canopy
- Wagon/SUV with auxiliary battery under rear floor or cargo area
- 4WD vehicles with front engine and rear battery configuration
- Dual battery systems where batteries are separated by 3-8.5 metres
Typical Installation Configurations
- Boot/trunk-mounted auxiliary battery systems
- Canopy-mounted battery boxes on utes
- Under-seat or rear floor auxiliary batteries in wagons
- Drawer system battery installations in 4WD cargo areas
Compatible with BCDCN1240 Charger Features
When used with BCDCN1240:
- 40A DC-DC charging from vehicle alternator
- Green Power Priority™ (solar takes priority over alternator)
- Simultaneous DC and solar charging
- Compatible with standard and variable voltage alternators
Installation Requirements
Requires BCDCN1240 DC-DC battery charger (sold separately). Auxiliary battery ground cable must be purchased separately. Solar-to-Anderson cable sold separately if solar input used. Professional installation recommended for correct cable routing, grommet installation, and electrical connections.
Not Suitable For
Short cable run installations (<3 metres) - standard shorter cable kits available. Battery-to-battery distances exceeding 8.5 metres. Use with other BCDC models (designed specifically for BCDCN1240).
- Automotive-grade components meeting Australian Design Rules (ADR)
- Cables and terminals meet SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) standards
- Fuses and fuse holders comply with automotive electrical safety standards
- UV-resistant materials for Australian conditions
- Designed for REDARC BCDCN1240 manufactured in Australia
Installation Compliance
Installation must comply with relevant vehicle electrical regulations. Cable routing must avoid heat sources, sharp edges, and moving components. Grommets required for bulkhead penetrations.
